Ross Mitchel, Principal and Founder
Driven by his interest in the underlying organizational dynamics of business, Ross’ background includes varied experiences that afforded him the opportunity to improve business performance and enhance workflow.
His early experiences in real estate investment and development were highly process-intensive. Watching others run themselves ragged in this classically chaotic environment, Ross recognized his aptitude for process improvement.
In 1988, Ross founded Principal Finance, where his organizational approaches and client interaction methods established the firm as an industry leader. During his years in the mortgage industry, Ross was active in the Massachusetts Mortgage Association, serving in several board capacities including President, and lobbying for mortgage reform on the state and federal levels.
In the early 1990s, Ross began assisting his business-owner clients with business issues beyond financing, which led to his current consulting practice. Since 1994, Ross has concentrated on helping companies manage “the business of running their business” and has assisted companies large and small across a broad spectrum of industries, as well as non-profit organizations.
Ross has served on the Board of Directors of the Zachary Scott Theatre and the Jewish Community Association of Austin. He is a regular speaker for trade associations, business groups, and universities, and works extensively with student teams at the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas.
Ross attended Boston University and the Boston Architectural Center. He lives in Providence, Rhode Island.
